- What's your 2026 tarot card?
Happy New Year! The collective energy is buzzing with hope as we step into a blank slate filled with possibilities. What will you plan, dream, or manifest in the year ahead? For years now I have calculated my tarot year card. I first discovered this practice through the Tarot School 's concept of Tarot Birth Cards, but later I learned that Mary Greer wrote extensively about Tarot Year Cards in her book, Who Are You in the Tarot? Haha, great minds think alike, right? Every new year we are presented with blessings, challenges, and lessons. 2025 is no different. Going through it all turns into our wisdom. Knowing your Tarot Year Card helps you recognize these themes, prepare for what's ahead, and grow wiser from each experience. Every year brings blessings, challenges, and lessons. Our path shapes who we are and becomes our wisdom . What are Tarot Year Cards? Tarot Year Cards are a way to explore the unique themes, lessons, and opportunities each year brings, based on the Major Arcana. Each year of your life corresponds to a specific tarot card that reflects the energy and focus of that year. These cards act as a guide, offering insights into the blessings, challenges, and growth opportunities you may encounter. The concept intrigued me so much that I created a spreadsheet to calculate my Tarot Year Cards from birth (my Tarot Birth Card) all the way to my 100th year. Through this exercise, I discovered a fascinating pattern: Tarot Year Cards follow ten-year cycles, appearing in chronological order and resetting in the 11th year. I’ll share more about these cycles soon, but first, let’s explore the 2025 collective Tarot Card theme. What is the collective Tarot Card Theme for 2026? The collective Tarot Card theme for 202t is The Wheel of Fortune. Opportunities | Cycles | Changes This is a year of motion, alignment, and cosmic timing. What felt stuck in 2025 shakes loose. What once seemed impossible suddenly sits right within reach. You step into new roles, new visibility, and new rhythms because your persistence has paid off and the universe agrees: It’s time! This is the year the Wheel is turning in your favor. How do I calculate my Tarot Year Card? Want to discover your 2026 Tarot Year Card? It’s simple and based on numerology! Numerology is the study of the spiritual and symbolic meanings of numbers, and it’s often used to uncover patterns in our lives. By adding the digits of your birth date and the year, you create a single number that corresponds to one of the 22 Major Arcana cards. Each card represents a theme or energy guiding you through the year. Add your birth month and day together. Example: August 20 = 08 + 20 = 28. Add this sum to the desired year. Example: 28 + 2026 = 2054. Reduce the result to a number between 1 and 22 (corresponding to the Major Arcana). Example: 2054 → 2 + 0 + 5 + 4 = 11. The 2026 Tarot Year Card is: Justice! Themes: Discernment | Balance | Accountability. This simple calculation connects your birth energy with the collective energy of the year, offering insights into the opportunities, challenges, and lessons ahead. Click here to find your theme. Exploring Tarot Year Cards Over Time Tarot Year Cards follow a fascinating ten-year cycle. The cards appear in chronological order for ten years and reset on the 11th year. Let’s take a closer look at a portion of my own cycle. I’ve included 14 years so you can see two years before the cycle starts and two years after it resets. Over time, I’ve noticed patterns in how certain cards reappear while others are absent entirely. Recurring cards, like Justice and The Hanged Man , represent ongoing lessons and areas I’m continuously working on. On the other hand, some cards, like The High Priestess and Judgement , never show up for me. I interpret this to mean that I naturally embody these energies, while the recurring cards highlight areas where I have room to grow. Take some time to reflect: Recurring Cards : Which cards appear most often for you? These likely represent your life lessons. Absent Cards : Which cards don’t appear at all? These may reflect qualities you’ve already mastered. Tracking your Tarot Year Cards over time is a fun and enlightening way to uncover patterns in your life. It offers a unique perspective on your personal growth journey, helping you understand what to focus on and what to embrace. Lessons from My Tarot Year Cards: Past, Present, & Future After all the years I’ve tracked my Tarot Year Card, 2025 has been a reminder that the energy doesn’t switch on January 1. Because the Tarot Year Card calculation is based on your birthday (birth month + day + year in question), the shift usually lands around that time, in my case, its August. That’s why the energy of 2024’s Hermit stayed with me well into 2025. It wasn’t until early summer, that I finally started to feel The Wheel of Fortune’s themes of cycles and changes. I expect the same gradual transition as I move toward 2026. For 2026, my Tarot Year Card is Justice, marking a shift from the changes and momentum of the Wheel into a year focused on discernment, balance, and accountability. In 2025, I worked under a blend of The Hermit (2024–2025) and The Wheel of Fortune (2025–2026) while reviewing and revising New Moon Life Design —a major project three years in the making. That stretch of time demanded the persistence of Strength (2023), the introspection of The Hermit (2024), and the turning-point changes of The Wheel of Fortune (2025). Now, as I move toward 2026, the overlap between the Wheel and Justice makes the message clear: my decisions matter. The opportunities I take and the ones I decline will shape what becomes possible. This lines up with the April 2026 launch of my book, which marks a new chapter in my work. I’m also stepping more fully into my role as a teacher. Since New Moon Life Design functions as a year-long course, I have everything I need to begin offering more structured teaching throughout the year. Justice supports steady, intentional effort rather than scattered action. Looking ahead to 2027, my Tarot Year Card will be The Hanged Man, which brings themes of perspective, letting go, and sacrifice. This tells me that the movement of the Wheel and the accountability of Justice will naturally lead to a moment where I’ll need to release something to make space for what I’m building toward in 2028. It’s not scary or dramatic, it’s simply awareness of how cycles progress and how each card archetype prepares the ground for what comes next. In past years, cards like The Devil taught me to address unhealthy habits and patterns, while The Lovers emphasized the importance of aligned commitment and partnership. Each year brings its own set of lessons, and understanding my Tarot Year Card ahead of time helps me move through those themes with more clarity, intention, and focus. Visualizing Growth Through Your Year Card The Tarot Year Card reveals opportunities for growth, reflection, and or release. If your card aligns with something you’re ready to let go of, visualize yourself actively moving past it. If it reflects a strength, focus on amplifying its energy throughout the year. What is your 2026 tarot card theme? Now it’s your turn! Calculate your 2026 Tarot Year Card using the steps above . What themes resonate with you? - The Cosmic Power of Handwriting: Moon-Guided Journaling for Goal Setting
Synch Lunar Wisdom and Zodiac Influence for Personal Transformation with handwritten journaling and goal setting at the new moon. In this day in age the simple act of putting pen to paper has become a revolutionary tool for personal development. Can you beleive, many schools no longer teach cursive writing? Despite its potential benefits there is an over emphasis on typing. This passion for handwriting and cosmic wisdom is why I'm always journaling and talking about it. It's my way of tapping into intuition and connecting with my inner guide. The YesSpiral journals are a natural extension of this practice - they blend the timeless wisdom of lunar cycles with zodiac inspiration and tarot insights. This combination, coupled with the power of handwriting, has become my go-to method for self-reflection and personal growth. That's why I've created so many workbooks and journals over the years. For me, it's not just journaling - it's a journey of personal evolution, and I'm excited to share this path with others who are ready to explore their inner worlds through writing. Why Handwriting Matters Technology is incredibly convenient - we all carry our smartphones everywhere, and for good reason. They're amazing tools! But when it comes to self-discovery and personal growth, handwriting offers a quick and powerful path. Here's why putting pen to paper works: Brain Boost: Handwriting activates multiple brain regions simultaneously. This creates a network of neural connections around a single topic, making your intentions and goals more likely to stick in your memory. Thought-to-World Bridge: The physical act of writing creates a tangible link between your inner thoughts and the outside world. This connection helps ground your ideas and make them feel more real. Mindful Slowdown: In our fast-paced world, handwriting naturally slows you down. This deceleration allows for deeper reflection on your goals, helping you craft intentions with greater clarity and purpose. Memory Enhancer: Research consistently shows that handwritten information is more easily recalled than typed notes. By writing your goals and intentions, you're giving yourself a memory advantage. Emotional Processor: Writing serves as a form of emotional release and exploration. As you put your hopes, dreams, and intentions on paper, you're also processing the emotions tied to them, fostering self-awareness and personal growth. So while leaving your smartphone behind is unthinkable don't underestimate the power of picking up a pen. Your handwriting could be the key to unlocking new levels of personal development! The YesSpiral Approach: Syncing with Natural Rhythms The YesSpiral New Moon Intentions & Goals Journal takes the power of handwriting to a whole new level by syncing it with natural cycles: Moon Magic: We use the moon's phases as your personal calendar. - Spiral Moon Phase Ritual
How to work with the phases and cycles of the moon to design and live the life you want. A new moon, tarot, and astrology practice. Spiral Moon Phase Ritual: Design Your Life with Lunar Cycles The Moon is our cosmic reminder to focus on designing the life we want to live. By working with the phases and cycles of the Moon, we can improve our relationships, finances, health, creativity, and more. Each new moon cycle intertwines with the next in a spiral of wisdom , helping us illuminate the unknown and shape our future intentionally. The Spiral Moon Phase Ritual teaches you how to move with these natural rhythms, planting new seeds each month and growing your life in harmony with the cosmos. Understanding the Moonth and the Moon Phase Ritual A new moon cycle — or "moonth" — is approximately 29.5 days, the time it takes the Moon to orbit Earth. I call it a moonth because it mirrors a calendar month and, honestly, it's more fun to say. As the Moon moves through the sky, it transits all 12 zodiac signs, spending about 2.5 days in each. Meanwhile, the Sun stays in each sign for about 30 days, setting the larger seasonal tone. There are eight classic Moon phases, but in the Spiral Moon Phase Ritual , we focus on five key stages . These phases mirror the life cycle of a plant, helping us visualize how our intentions grow: New Moon – Plant seeds of intention. Waxing Moon – Nurture and grow your dreams. Full Moon – Celebrate the blossom of your efforts. Waning Moon – Weed and release what no longer serves. Dark Moon – Receive the seeds of new wisdom. Each phase invites reflection, action, and realignment, weaving your personal evolution into the greater cosmic dance. What to do at the new moon? The new moon is a powerful time to set intentions, make wishes, or goals. The New Moon is 0 - 3 days of the Sun and Moon Conjunction Moon & Sun are 0º apart Moon Rises: Sunrise | Sets: Sunset The new moon happens when the sun and moon are conjunct 0º apart in the sky. When the sun and moon align in the same zodiac sign, their energy focuses on one area. This alignment creates the perfect energetic window to set new intentions, make wishes, or clarify goals. The New Moon is a portal. The Universe is listening — place your order during this powerful time. How to Set New Moon Intentions: Free-write what you want — dreams both big and small. Limit your intentions to around ten for clarity and focus. Try phrasing similar intentions from different angles to refine the energy. Over time, working with New Moons will touch on every major area of your life. In the YesSpiral Moonthly Spread, Card 1 represents your New Moon intention — your intentional seed. What to do at the waxing moon? The waxing moon is the time to nurture your intentions by taking action. Review your New Moon intentions, pick one to focus on, and transform it into a SMART goal — specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. The Waxing First Quarter Moon is 7 - 10 days after the New Moon Moon & Sun are 90º apart Moon Rises: Noon | Sets: Midnight The first quarter waxing moon happens when the sun and moon are 90º apart in the sky. This relationship creates a catalyst into action. This energetic tension moves us forward. Use this time to clarify what actions you'll take towards bringing your dreams to life and how you'll fit them into your schedule. Planning and dedication are key to turning dreams into reality. Some intentions can manifest quickly — in just two weeks between the New Moon and Full Moon — while others unfold over months or even years. The important thing is to pick goals that inspire action and keep your momentum alive. A the Waxing Moon energy builds. Choose your focus, commit, and watch your dream life grow. In the YesSpiral Moonthly Spread, Card 2 reflects the focus and commitment of the waxing moon. Ready to transform your intentions into powerful, achievable goals? Check out the my SMART Goals blog Post. The YesSpiral Workbook guides you through turning your New Moon dreams into structured, soul-aligned SMART goals — and helps you stay on track all moon long. What to do at the full moon? The full moon is a time to celebration, reflection, forgiveness and release. At the full moon energy is at a peak - shining a light on both our blessings and burdens. The Full Moon is 14 - 17 days after the New Moon Moon & Sun are 180º apart Moon Rises: Sunset | Sets: Sunrise The full moon happens when the sun and moon are 180º apart in the sky. The sun is usually still in the sign where the new moon started (not always) and the moon is in the opposite sign. This opposition brings energy to a peak — shining light on both our blessings and our burdens. At the Full Moon, we celebrate what has blossomed. We practice gratitude for the ways life is showing up — even if the growth looks different than expected. This is also a powerful time to let go of regrets, disappointments, and any old energy weighing you down. Forgiveness is key — including forgiveness for yourself. You can charge your crystals (and your spirit) under the Full Moon’s light, gather with friends for a Moon Circle , dance off extra energy, and — if the spirit moves you — howl your joy into the night. The Full Moon embraces it all. Celebrate your bloom. Forgive your stumbles. In the YesSpiral Moonthly Spread, Card 3 reflects what is blooming and where gratitude, forgiveness, and celebration align. What to do at the waning moon? The Waning Moon is the true moment of transformation. As the light of the Moon fades, realizations sprout like wild weeds — offering clarity about what truly serves us and what no longer does. The Waning Third Quarter Moon is 21 - 24 Days after the New Moon Moon & Sun are 90º apart Moon Rises: Midnight | Sets: Noon The third quarter waning moon happens when the sun and moon are 90º apart. The moon is now three quarters of the way in the cycle. The waning moon creates tension that now invites reflection instead of action . At this point in the cycle, it's time to revisit your intention list. Check in with yourself : What still lights you up? Circle the intentions that light you up. Cross out the ones that weigh you down. What feels heavy or forced? Create a simple release ritual: write it down, burn it (safely), and say goodbye with gratitude. Assess what needs nurturing — and what needs weeding out. Some intentions may no longer resonate, and that's not failure — it's growth. Dreams evolve as you do. Unconscious resistance often surfaces at this phase. Tools like tarot, journaling, or honest conversation can help reveal hidden blocks. If you find something that no longer fits your true path, release it with love and gratitude. Yes, every lesson deserves gratitude even if it's hard. Not every seed needs to grow — some were simply meant to show you what matters most. The Waning Moon reveals what you’re ready to release — and who you're ready to become. In the YesSpiral Moonthly Spread, Card 4 reflects what is ready for release, and the transformation that clearing creates. What to do at the dark moon The Dark Moon invites us inward. As the final sliver of light fades, it's time for deep introspection, integration, and preparation for the next cycle. The Dark Moon is is 25 - 28 days after the New Moon Moon & Sun are 30º apart Moon Rises: Sunrise | Sets: Sunset The dark moon happens when the sun and moon are close together in the sky about 30º apart in the sky. The moon offers us a sliver of light, perfect for going within and communing with our intuition. The dark moon is an optimal time for introspection and integration of the actions we took or didn’t take. Use these two to three days to review how the moonth progressed. During this phase, we review the moonth behind us: How did your intentions develop? What actions did you take — or resist? What lessons emerged? Reflection can happen through meditation, journaling, or a simple quiet moment with yourself. This is also a time to release what no longer fits. Write down anything you are ready to banish — old fears, outdated goals, limiting beliefs — and burn it safely as an act of energetic cleansing. Before the next seed is planted, the field must be cleared. Trust the process. In the YesSpiral Moonthly Spread, Card 5 reflects this integration and prepares the seed of the next cycle. The spiral turns, and Card 5 becomes Card 1 — beginning again with renewed clarity. Spiral New Moon - Moonthly - Tarot Spread The Spiral New Moon Tarot Spread is a framework to keep you aligned with the waxing and waning cycles of life. Planting intentions, nurturing growth, celebrating progress, releasing what no longer serves, and reseeding your dreams. What is the intentional seed of the New Moon? What do you nurture to grow at the Waxing Moon? What do you celebrate/forgive at the Full Moon? What do you release at the Waning moon? What is the seed of the upcoming New Moon? (use card #5 as card # 1 next moonth) Commit to your growth under the influence of the moon. Start off with a three-month commitment of working with the phases of the moon. It is a personal development and growth practice. The intentions you set at each new moon help you to move into new situations. It will help you to recognize resistance you may be holding on too. Let me know in the comments if you have a moon practice? How has connecting with the moon changed you?
